Let us start by saying we aren’t perfect and we don’t pretend to be, but being environmentally-minded and fair is important to us and that’s what the brand is all about – trying to do our best and making sure our planet and the people gets the love it deserves.
While we have a long way to go, there are a few things that we did get right and we’d like to share those with you.
We set out on a sourcing adventure with an electric car, or at least a hybrid. If we are sourcing smaller quantities, we only do so with our bikes, public transport or carpools. In the future, we intend to further bring down our impact by participating in carbon offsetting projects.
Each MM package has a card, and one or two small notes. We use hundred percent recycled paper and eco-printing options for them.
In the future, as we grow, we intend to go fully digital/paperless.
Your MM items are carefully wrapped in hand-made cloth bags made from reject pile t-shirts, which you can reuse as a grocery bag or an accessory. It is then enclosed in 100% biodegradable mailer! To top it off, we have another little green surprise for you (quite literally)!
In the future, we intend to add more reusable goodies to the packaging and look for other alternatives that are even more sustainable.
Through our blog we intent to promote other awesome sustainable brands that we believe in and tips for low-waste living and mental health.
10% of our profits are donated each month alternately to Minds Foundation who are our NGO partners working towards making mental health stigma free & accessible and the other month it goes to rotating organisations working to make fashion fair - people and planet-friendly.
In the future, we will try to look at ways to make an every bigger impact on community/institutional level, as we believe sustainability should not be reserved for a privileged few. Everyone should have the means to make their lives easier without hurting the planet.
Voilà, that’s all we are doing so far, as it’s a small business, most of our time goes into running the shop. But as we grow, build a team and delegate some of the work, we intend to use that time to find ways to grow the brand without hurting the planet or the people associated with it; that’s our promise to you!
